2023 Player/Parent Agreement

PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT
1. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game.
2. I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parents such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.
3. I will not encourage any behavior or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the athletes.
4. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
5. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
6. I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his performance.
7. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard.
8. I will not ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
9. I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
10. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.
11. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all games.
12. I will remain in the designated spectator area, and will not approach any coach on the field or in the dugout during the duration of the game.

I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:
• Verbal warning by league management personnel or by Blazer Board of Directors
• Written warning by league management personnel or by Blazer Board of Directors
• Parental game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by the League office and Blazer Board of Directors I will notify the board of directors of any suspected violation of this code of conduct by any coach, parent or guest related to a Blazer team.

COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

1. I will exemplify the highest moral character, behavior and leadership, adhering to strong ethical and integrity standards. Practicing good citizenship is practicing good sportsmanship.
2. I will respect the integrity and personality of the individuals on my team.
3. I will abide by and teach the rules of the game in letter and in spirit.
4. I will describe and define respectful and disrespectful behavior. I will stress that disrespectful behavior, especially taunting, trash talking and intimidation will not be tolerated.
5. I will set a good example for players and spectators to follow. I will refrain from arguments in front of participants and spectators; no gestures which indicate an official or opposing coach does not know what he is doing or talking about; no throwing of any object in disgust. Shake hands with officials and opposing coaches before and after the game in full view of the public. I will also demand the same of my players.
6. I will respect the integrity and judgment of officials, treating them with respect, even if I disagree with their judgment, which will only make a positive impression on my team and in the eyes of all people at the game.
7. I will display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat in public and in meeting with the parents.
8. I will instruct participants and spectators in proper sportsmanship responsibilities and demand that they make sportsmanship the No. 1 priority.
9. I will develop a program that rewards participants and spectators for displaying proper sportsmanship and enforces penalties on those who do not abide by sportsmanship standards.
10. I will be no party to the use of profanity or obscene language, or improper actions.
11. I will follow all league rules and conduct myself in accordance of these rules, as outlined in the league rule book.
12. I will not throw equipment.
13. I will demand a sports environment that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all program events, nor tolerate anyone under these influences during or after any program events particularly at the ballpark, stands and parking areas.
14. A background check is required for all parents/coaches that are participate in practice, games or are in contact with the players other than their own child.

When Violation occurs:

1st Offense- Verbal warning from the Blazer Board of Directors followed by random visits to your games for observation.
2nd Offense – Written warning from Blazer Board of Directors
3rd Offense – Probation/removal with the review by the board of directors.
4th Offense – Removal from the organization I will notify the board of directors of any suspected violation of this code of conduct by any coach, parent or guest related to a Blazer team.

PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

1. I accept and understand the seriousness of my responsibility, and the privilege of representing my team and my community.
2. I will treat opponents the way I would like to be treated, as a guest or friend.
3. I will refrain from taunting, trash talking or making any kind of derogatory remarks to our opponents during the game, especially comments of an ethnic or racial nature. I will refrain from intimidating behavior and drawing attention to myself.
4. I will wish opponents good luck before the game and congratulate them in a sincere manner that I would like to be greeted with following either a victory or a defeat. 5. I will respect the integrity and judgment of game officials. I will treat them with respect, even if I disagree with their judgment, which will serve to make a positive impression of myself and my team in the eyes of the officials and all people at the game.
6. I will win with humility and lose with grace. I will do both with dignity, and avoid excessive celebrating after a play or end of a game.
7. I will treat my teammates the way I would like to be treated, with respect and dignity regardless of level of talent.
